    Questions

Good to know before you call.

    Don't see your question? Call (734) 476-6854.

Do you come to me, or do I bring something in?

We come to you. Eco Air is based in Washtenaw County and travels to customers across Washtenaw County and surrounding areas for repairs, installations and maintenance.

    Which areas do you serve?

Washtenaw County and surrounding areas, including Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Dexter, Canton, Plymouth, Northville, Wayne and Westland. The map shows our usual service area, and nearby locations outside it may be available by arrangement. Don't see your city? Please call our office at (734) 476-6854 to check availability.

    How do I book?

Use the online booking page to pick a time, or call (734) 476-6854 to talk it through first.

How much will my repair or installation cost?

It depends on the system and what's wrong. Call or book a visit to talk through your situation.

Can you help if my heat or AC stops working suddenly?

Yes, that's a core part of what we do. Call to check the soonest available time. If you smell gas, leave the building first and call your gas utility or 911 from outside.

Do you work on water heaters too?

Yes. We repair, replace and maintain water heaters along with furnaces and air conditioners.

How often should my system be serviced?

A common approach is a furnace tune-up each fall and an AC tune-up each spring, with filter checks every one to three months. We can recommend a schedule for your equipment.

What should I have ready when I call?

Your address, a short description of the problem and when it started, and, if you can see it, the brand and model on the equipment label. A phone photo of the label helps.

Indoor air quality & filter care
    C2 · Indoor air quality

    Indoor air quality

    The air inside matters too.

Indoor air carries everyday particles like dust, pollen, pet dander and cooking smoke, along with extra moisture. Too much of it can leave rooms stuffy and uncomfortable, and it can bother people with allergies or asthma. The EPA describes three core strategies, with controlling sources usually the most effective. Managing moisture is extra practical advice that helps too.

    EPA's three core strategies

    1. 1Control the sources usually most effective
    2. 2Ventilate
    3. 3Filter as a supplement

    Also helpful

    • +Manage moisture

    Common indoor particles

    • Dust
    • Pollen
    • Pet dander
    • Cooking smoke and grease

Particles like these settle on surfaces and get stirred back up into the air. When they build up, rooms can feel stale and people sensitive to them may notice it more.

    Good to know

Most forced-air heating and cooling systems don't bring in outdoor air. They move the air that's already inside. Running the furnace fan circulates and filters indoor air, but it isn't the same as fresh-air ventilation.

    Filters & maintenance

    A simple upkeep schedule

    1. Every month
      Check the filter

Look at it every month, especially in the heavy-use months of winter and summer. If it looks dirty, replace it.

    2. About every 1–3 months
      Replace typical disposable filters

Most standard disposable filters need replacing when dirty, and generally within one to three months. Follow the instructions from your equipment and filter makers.

    3. Varies
      Thicker media and washable filters

These run on their own schedules, so follow their instructions. Pets, dust, renovation projects and heavy system use can all mean sooner changes.

    4. Once a year
      Professional heating and cooling maintenance

Have your system checked yearly. We suggest the air conditioner before summer and the furnace before winter.

Service the furnace before the cold, and the AC before the heat.

Southeast Michigan winters are long and summers are humid. Tune-ups in the shoulder seasons mean fewer surprises when you need the system most.
